The MDrivePlus product line combining motor, driver, controller and encoder, adds its smallest integrated all-in-one motion control solution to date with the new MDrive14Plus Motion Control utilizing a NEMA size 14 brushless 1.8° motor and measuring a mere 1.9 x 1.4 x 2.0 (48x36x52mm).
The MDrive14Plus Motion Control can reduce size, cost and complexity in a wide range of brushless motor applications without compromising functionality according to the company. This product includes a programmable controller and instruction set. Communications is over either RS-422/485 or optional CANopen.
MDrive14Plus Motion Control includes up to eight +5 to +24 volt general purpose I/O lines, one 10 bit analog input, 0 to 5MHz step clock rate, and 20 microstep resolutions up to 51,200 steps per revolution. Optional closed loop control adds: stall detection, position maintenance and find index mark.
The MDrive14Plus Motion Control accepts a broad input voltage range from +12 to +48 VDC. Oversized input capacitors are used to minimize power line surges, reducing problems that can occur with long runs and multiple drive systems. An extended operating range of 40° to +85°C provides long life, trouble free service in demanding environments.
Smoothness and performance is achieved through advanced 2nd generation current control. By applying innovative techniques to control current flow through the motor, resonance is dampened over the entire speed range and audible noise reduced.
